Ski Holiday in Aosta Valley-Italy

 A very good friend of me (Silje) was with me on this trip to Italy to explore the kings of the mountains when it comes to both slope and freeriding.

We went to Courmayer in northwest Italy . The site itself is named Valley D`Aosta.
Here we should be for a long weekend and go skiing for two days. What a wonderful place , loved the charming little ” swiss ” inspired chalets everywhere in the skiareas. Cheap food and fun après ski drinks. Imponente!;-)

The mountain was huge and you could constantly see Mont Blanc from the Italian side . There was a alot of variations and different trails to choose from and this suited us great . If you have time and inclination you can drive for half an hour and then be at Chamonix. The ski pass last for the entire Aosta Valley which is great for skiers that will vary a little.

To get to Courmayer , we flew  to Milan where we had a car standing ready at the airport. After a good night’s sleep we drove off with our car and got happier and happier the more impressive mountains we saw on our way.:-) It is recommended to drive yourself , the roads are good , the cars are nimble and public transport to this  area is cumbersome and takes a long time .

En god venn av meg og jeg dro til Cormayer i nordvest italia. Selve området blir kallt Aosta dalen.
Her skulle vi være en langhelg og stå på ski to av de. For et fantastisk sted, elsket de sjarmerende små “sveits” inspirerte alpehyttene overalt i bakken. Billig mat og morsomme afterski drinker. Perfekt!

Fjellet var enormt og man kunne hele tiden se Mont Blanc fra den italienske siden. Det var et enormt utvalg av løyper å velge i blant og dette passet oss ypperlig. Har man tid og lyst har man muligheten til å kjøre kun en halvtime og så er man ved chamonix og kan stå på ski der. Skipasset gjelder for hele aosta-dalen noe som er glimrende for skiturister som vil variere litt.

For å komme oss til C fløy vi først til Milano hvor vi hadde leiebil stående klar på flyplassen. Etter en god natts søvn suste vi avgårde på veien og stemmningen ble høyere og høyere hvor flottere fjell vi så på vår vei. Det anbefales å kjøre selv, veiene er gode, bilene er spreke og kollektiv transporten til akkurat dette området er kronglete og tar laaaang tid.
